I hope you are doing fine and just wanted to check in. It's a pity that all your julia contributions disappeared from one moment to the next, and while I hope you'll come back, I wish you all the best regardless of what you choose!

(I ended up going for an issue in this private repo as it seemed to be the cleanest way to send you a message, and I checked that you can fully delete github issues as owner in case you don't want this to appear at all).

I tried writing to you on discourse but I see that you are not accepting messages there (not sure if it's because you are suspended or because you actively disabled that). I am very strongly opposed to censorship of this kind. The moderator did not seem to share this concern. So I dared them to ban me as well. They seemed very pleased to do so.

Since they seemed so eager to do so, and I was forcefully logged out of my account, where I have spent many hours attempting to help people who might want to use Julia for both my packages and others not my own (yet am I attacked for 'creating so many threads, most of which are about something not working'), I made the decision to at least temporarily remove my work from public view.

I am weighing options about where or when to present my work to the world again. I'm skeptical that I will want to do so in the main Julia community. I am unimpressed with the way the engagement occurs, who engages, and the things that are being addressed. I believe I have been consistently supportive of people working on interesting and useful projects.

I've only been critical of people who have directly lashed out at me, undeservedly in my opinion. Yet the moderators seem to find that behavior acceptable, and deem mine not to be. Why should I interact with this forum?

I respect these words spoken by Frank Zappa decades ago, his view on censorship mirrors my own, and he considered it such an important topic to stand up against that he testified in Congress against legislation aimed at preventing people from listening to certain kinds of music.

I consider it a cancer that easily spreads and therefore must be strongly resisted, strongly called out and protested. That is the main motivation for the actions I have taken, intended as statements against the moderators. I would like to emphasize here that while I disagree with the people who wanted to criticize or insult me and other developers (sometimes not even knowing which author or which Julia package they were attacking), I never requested nor would I ever request that their messages be censored.

In fact, I have encouraged debate and conversation about controversial topics. It is in fact, and this is mathematically provable, within the realm of conflicting ideas that the highest amount of information transport occurs.

The goal then of censors, is to prevent information from being shared and transmitted between people who should be free to think, free to create, free to express, free to share, free to deliver any information they deem valuable to any other human if they so desire to receive it.

If you don't like my expressions, fine, don't listen to them.
